A Sweet Treat

So......what is the longest it has taken you to finish a layout you started?? how about 19 months??? yes, that is how long it has taken me to finish this layout. does it look a bit familiar to you? it might if you have at terrific memory and used to check out the gallery at LifetimeMoments. I did the first page of this layout in June 2009. it was probably a DT assignment for new stuff from CHA. normally it looked best to do a single page layout, but rarely do I take so few photos that I can make due with just one page! I would normally follow up with a second page later. anyway, I needed to order another piece of the background paper (which, unusual for me, I did right away) to complete the second page. and then it just sat around......and got pushed aside for other fun things. you know how it goes. needless to say......19 months later I finished! aren't you proud of me?

Products used:

Aye Matey!

So let's start this off by stating that transparencies are horrible to photograph or scan!! I lost patience with this and just snapped away. course, there is a neat little trick in this layout I want to tell you about: I layered the black ship transparency OVER the black paper that had the same image printed on it in white. I put the transparency a little off so that the white acts as a shadow for the black. I realize this isn't groundbreaking, but I thought it was kinda cool! otherwise, this layout isn't as exciting as I would have liked it to be. but considering I had the paper and picture pulled for over a year, I am glad it is done!

Products used:

Puttin' Around with Arlyn

wonder if I should have warned Arlyn that I was posting this? lol!! and yes, I totally realize that the journaling on this layout is extremely silly, but really, what about mini-golf isn't silly?

this layout is based on a sketch by sketchsupport. it was originally for 5 photos and kinda flipped from what I ended up with, but I like the linear look to it and will probably use it again, following the sketch closer.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame (page 1)

I say "page 1" because I need to make a second page for this layout with 2 other photos I have.....but only 1 sheet of this paper! any guesses who made it? I really should have a contest and disqualify certain individuals who were with me the night I scrapped, because I really think people would be shocked! needless to say, thank heavens for Google because I found a place online that has it.....and it will only cost me $7.50 in shipping for a $0.56 piece of clearance paper! wonder how much I will end up spending to make paying shipping worth it?

this layout was based on sketch #100 from the Sketch Inspiration book. the book only contains 1 page layouts. in a perfect world it would include some double pagers, but that is just me! lol!!

Products used:
SEI Beachouse Baseball Text (seriously! who would have guessed?)
Jillibean Soup
Carolee's Creations (aka Adornit) ribbon
American Craft Thickers
Basic Grey stickers
unknown buttons and play ball sticker

Sk8 Punkz

kinda plain layout but I loved the photos! don't know why but they came out really grainy. probably had the wrong setting on my camera....but it added to the whole grunge feel of the layout. oh, and btw, I completed the 3 layouts I am posting today at a crop on Saturday night. first 3 layouts of 2011!

Products used:
Basic Grey Wander paper
Basic Grey Wander chipboard
7 Gypsies arrow photo anchors
Lasting Impressions brads
KI Soup (thanks Arlyn! I had to break in to the back-up back-up stash from you!) btw, those letters are brown and not black. black looked wrong with the layout.

Baseball Nuts

yes, no question about it, those things make noise.....you can decide if I am talking about the sticks or boys! anyway, as the River Cats got closer to the playoffs, the hype increased (another layout done with pictures taken a bit later in the game has the boys with Sharpie mustaches).

this layout is from a sketch found in Sketch Inspiration Volume 1. I turned sketch #109 on its side! oh yes, and most of the stuff on the layout is from a kit from Scrapdango. really it shouldn't have taken me too long with all that help.....right? too bad I had to decide on brads for the arrow photo anchors....that took 20 minutes! lol!!

Products used (from the Oct 2010 kit and not):
Scrappin Sports and More baseball text
JilliBean corrugated alphabet
JilliBean striped paper
7 Gypsy arrow photo anchors
Bazzill brads
JilliBean spots
