Challenges (pt 2)

I am hoping for a Challenges (pt 3) post after the crop next weekend. kinda feel like I should include those days in February since they ARE challenges from February......or is that cheating?

JELLY BELLY FACTORY

This uses the February 19 sketch from My Sketch World and meets the February 8th challenge at ScrapVillage to create a 2 page layout using 2 different sized photos and 2 different embellishments. I also got the "bonus" by using a total of 12 brads!

Products Used:

SEI (Smarty)
Doodlebug buttons
American Craft brads & Thickers

and with the scraps I made this card to send to Operation Write Home using  the February 6th sketch from My Sketch World.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DINGER

This uses the February 20th sketch from My Sketch World and meets the February 4th challenge at ScrapVillage to use the Superbowl as inspiration. Mine: a sports layout and using the River Cats reddish-maroon color. I really like this sketch and can see me using it a lot!

Products Used:

Prima papers
Sizzix die cuts
7 Gypsies tape
Marvy punch
Lasting Impressions brads

all on my own, (ie: without a sketch) I made a card with the scraps. I think this fits the need for teen boy birthday cards.

Lots of Thanks & a Birthday

After having visitors in the office last week, my boss asked me to make some Thank You cards to send to the visitors. Since I do not know them very well, I made cards I thought were nice. Hopefully they will too!

This card is based on Operation Write Home Sketch #156. As you can see, I took some liberties with it.

Products:
Crate Paper paper and die cut
QK
Accent Depot brads

This card isn't based on a sketch. I am still working through the bits and pieces from the card kit I sent out in November!

Products used:
KI paper
misc paper
Prima flowers
KI and Doodlebug rhinestones

This fuzzy looking card is "homework" for Operation Write Home's Bootcamp - The ABC's of Color. I used the complimentary colors of orange and blue. Honestly, I had planned on using this paper for this card before the assignment came along. Why? Well, because I saw THIS card by Kristie and couldn't resist scraplifting it! I LOVE this design! I can see this being one of my "go to" card layouts! I masculine-ed it up by forgoing the doily.

Products used:
Crate Paper
QK
misc star punch
Queen & Co micro brads

I also had to make a few Thank Yous for my birthday.  I somehow misread the stamp and thought it said "thanks from the bottom of my heart." Oh well!!

Products used:
KI and Scrapworks papers
SU stamp
Spellbinders die

And last but not least, here is the card I made for a friends birthday last night. I had started the card awhile ago and believe it is based on a PageMaps card sketch. It was halfway done and I finished it last night so may or may not look anything like the original sketch!

Mr & Mrs (card)

My scanner and computer haven't been on speaking terms. Combine that with my lack of scrapping and you get a blog with cobwebs growing on it! But I am going to try and change that. I have some cards and layouts to post. Hope you are okay with camera pictures. If they come out crummy I won't bother posting.

Card is based on one found on a blog. Wish I could remember where to give proper credit. I hand cut the bottom edge after tracing a journaling card.

Products used:

Bo Bunny Alora papers, journaling card, chipboard
QK Maddie Anne
Heidi Swapp ghost shape
Prima flower
misc ribbon

Blue & Gold

Boy Scouts birthday party back in February 2007. I had the hardest time finding paper that worked with both the theme and the colors! I mean, REALLY, all that tan and blue...... Anyway, this layout met another challenge over at Scrapdango: paper with words on it, and some type of computer element (journaling).

Products Used:
Creative Imaginations papers
Prima flowers
Lasting Impressions brads
American Craft Thickers
Scenic Route chipboard
QK font
MM date stamp

Puttin' Around with Arlyn

wonder if I should have warned Arlyn that I was posting this? lol!! and yes, I totally realize that the journaling on this layout is extremely silly, but really, what about mini-golf isn't silly?

this layout is based on a sketch by sketchsupport. it was originally for 5 photos and kinda flipped from what I ended up with, but I like the linear look to it and will probably use it again, following the sketch closer.

Products used:

Echo Park papers and border sticker
American Craft ribbon and brads
Prima flowers
Doodlebug alphabet stickers
Junkitz brads
Heidi Swapp ghost alphabets
