Getting carded!

A thank you card for a good client at work requested by my boss. I like that he appreciates my work enough to ask me to make cards for special occasions.

Products used:

Crate papers
Heidi Swapp ghost star
Gin-X chipboard star
Chalk ink

And a card I challenged myself to make! another co-worker received a great birthday invitation to an ice cream birthday party. it was an oversized ice cream cone that swiveled open on a bright red cherry brad. I HAD to make a birthday card that measured up to the bar.

Products used:

KI papers (various collections)
QK Daisy
Sizzix die
Pop dots (for the ice cream scoops)
Doodlebug rhinestones
Scallop edge punch

and if you are still reading, I made another baby mini-album. this time it was for yet another co-worker. I posted it over in my Scrapdango gallery. sorry but not only can I not link you to just the album layouts, but they also didn't post in order (or scan decently).

Aloha

So much for zooming through layouts, huh? I guess that is what happens when you go to Vegas for a couple days and come home having won.......A COLD!

Here is another one from our Christmas vacation in Hawaii. wouldn't that be a nice place to recuperate from a cold? yeah, well, one can dream! needless to say, this is our arrival in the airport in Hawaii. my dad was there to great us all with traditional leies.......seeds for the man, flowers for the woman.....and well, macadamia nuts for the boys! lol!

this layout is based on today's newly posted sketch #208 over at Sketch Inspiration. I think it took me all of four hours after seeing the sketch to have this done. and during that time I also put away a bunch of scrap supplies I purchased yesterday, picked out photos and sketches for 3 layouts, and took a shower. aren't you impressed? HA!

Products used:

Basic Grey papers and alphabet stickers
HS rhinestone and ghost hearts (the ghost one is under the "a" in aloha)
Gin-X rub-ons (don't you miss them???)
misc brown pen and ink

Beware of Attack Gecko

Can you believe this is my 8th layout of 2011?? (not including the last layout where I did the 2nd page of a previously completed layout) Not bad considering my "goal" was 1 layout a week. I am really enjoying getting back into scrapbooking and using all those supplies I have been gathering. Even better, I am getting a tad bit closer to current in my albums......okay, well December 2006 isn't very close but it feels nice to see that stack of Hawaiian Christmas vacation photos.

This layout is based on another wonderful sketch from the Sketch Inspiration Volume 1. it was designed for 2 photos and a title, but I figured that the top photo said it all! lol!!

Products used:

Basic Grey paper and flower
American Craft felt flowers
Lasting Impressions buttons
Queen & Co micro brads

A Sweet Treat

So......what is the longest it has taken you to finish a layout you started?? how about 19 months??? yes, that is how long it has taken me to finish this layout. does it look a bit familiar to you? it might if you have at terrific memory and used to check out the gallery at LifetimeMoments. I did the first page of this layout in June 2009. it was probably a DT assignment for new stuff from CHA. normally it looked best to do a single page layout, but rarely do I take so few photos that I can make due with just one page! I would normally follow up with a second page later. anyway, I needed to order another piece of the background paper (which, unusual for me, I did right away) to complete the second page. and then it just sat around......and got pushed aside for other fun things. you know how it goes. needless to say......19 months later I finished! aren't you proud of me?

Products used:

Collage Press papers and journaling blocks
Heidi Swapp ghost hearts
Doodlebug rhinestones, alphabet stickers, and rub-ons
Love Elsie softie (or whatever she called them)
Scenic Route chipboard alphabet

Aye Matey!

So let's start this off by stating that transparencies are horrible to photograph or scan!! I lost patience with this and just snapped away. course, there is a neat little trick in this layout I want to tell you about: I layered the black ship transparency OVER the black paper that had the same image printed on it in white. I put the transparency a little off so that the white acts as a shadow for the black. I realize this isn't groundbreaking, but I thought it was kinda cool! otherwise, this layout isn't as exciting as I would have liked it to be. but considering I had the paper and picture pulled for over a year, I am glad it is done!

Products used:

Hambly Arts transparency and paper
American Crafts photo corners and Thickers
