June 15th
that was the last time I bought cardstock!! my goal was to purchase no more cardstock until the end of 2007 and I made it. I then started wondering just how long I COULD go without buying any cardstock. that day was yesterday!
I am still doing clean-up of those old layouts and I needed a certain color/texture to match the first page but didn't have it. trust me....I looked EVERYWHERE!!! anyway, I ended up buying 1 piece of cardstock. and since I did that I went ahead and ordered 50 sheets of Kraft from LM! Kraft is a basic though..... like adhesive, right?!?! so I am still feeling pretty good about not buying oodles of cardstock. oh.....but since I had to drive to the lss for that 1 piece of cardstock.....yeah.....well......I bought 2 sets of alpha rub-ons that LM was out of! lol!!

a little tidying up.....
so for the LM newsletter I frequently do just 1 page of a 2 page layout. 1 pagers look better in the newsletter......but those that know me know I rarely only have a few shots for a layout! lol!! so the past few days I have been trying to do those 2nd pages......and I am getting a little nervous about it. seems that while waiting a certain flower is no longer being made. I am worried that a few of the papers I need for those 2nd pages might not be available when I get around to doing them! lol!!
but....instead of listing each page out (because I am not going to scan and post them anyway) I will just do a total to add to my total. I also did a little bit of shopping to pick up a few things I had forgotten on my previous trip.
usage:
cardstock: 3 pieces
patterned paper: 5 pieces
brads: 8

a little bit of using and a little bit of buying.....
so I had to do some layout for LM. some of the products for the layouts were in my stash and some I got from CHA. I am not counting the stuff I brought home from CHA with. really I had no control over what I was given (I am not complaining.....) so I don't think it should count as stuff I purchased, right??

.....but it brings up another issue. what about the cardstock I cut into but then change my mind? what about the stuff I try and end up throwing away because I messed it up? Misty's Housewarming card.....
the party is this afternoon but I highly doubt Misty will be checking out my blog in the next 5 hours! lol!! this card uses no new cardstock. that means I didn't start a new sheet, right?? seems like a lot of cardstock but I guess it is kinda cool to know I used a bunch of scraps!
ribbon: 1
QK shapes: 1
QK alpha: 1
glitter: 1
chipboard: 1 piece
misc embellishment: 1

ink: 1
okay, so another rule.....I am SOOOO not tracking adhesive!! I know I buy too much but so what! we all NEED adhesive. period. end of statement. AND.....since even I am not so anal to count each individual type of embellishment, I am making a catch all for things like that hat pin. afterall......I have had those 6 or more months it isn't like I am going to go on a crazy hat pin tear, right?!?!?
so....running total:
cardstock: 5 pieces
patterned paper: 3 pieces
chipboard: 11 pieces
buttons: 13
rub-ons: 10
felt flowers: 12

beginning ground rules....
I expect these to be modified to suit my own purposes throughout the year. there will be some inherent issues like the fact that I use brads in 3s but have to buy in 25s?!?! the same thing with chipboard alphabets. sure love those....and I even like to mix and match them so hopefully I can actually REALLY completely use some!!
anyway.......if I CUT into a full piece of cardstock, for the purposes of this accounting I will consider it used. if I use an ALREADY cut piece of cardstock I will not count it (having assumed I counted it when I originally cut into it, right?!?!)
brads and the like will be counted individually as used and bought as accurately as possible. if the freakin' package of buttons says "approximately 63 buttons" I am not going to count them to confirm the number.
ribbon will be counted each time used. I just don't know how to get around this. I considered trying to keep track of it like cardstock.......but how much time would I be wasting trying to figure out whether I had already cut it?!?!?
I haven't decided to count embellishments like a felt flower as felt or a flower. I don't want to be as detailed as knowing what kind of flower it was or what kind of felt it was. perhaps I will start by calling it a felt flower and see how things go?!?!?
stamps and inks will be counted each time used and once when purchased. so see.......I can buy 10 sets of stamps and it will be balanced out by using just 1 set 10 times! lol!! (seriously....that is not my intent but it isn't like I am going to keep tic marks on the bottom of each stamp and ink pad) paint and the like will be counted the same.
anyway......with that......I will update with individual layouts and then keep a running total. this should be VERY interesting......to me.....probably no one else........and that is just fine!
THE HUNT
cardstock: 5 pieces
patterned paper: 3 pieces
chipboard: 10 pieces
buttons: 13
rub-ons: 10
felt flowers: 12
and with that we are started.....I am going to just enjoy this moment......where I have used more than I have purchased! lol!!

let the accounting begin....
the sole purpose of this blog is to help me keep track of supplies purchased and used. I would love to see at the end of the year that I used something close to what I purchased. ACTUALLY.....I would love to see that I USED more than I BOUGHT.....but let's not push it! lol!!
